No, I'm sorry, I can't watch 24

I'm sure many of you are familiar with the tv show, 24. Most men really like this show. I think they fantasize about being Jack Bauer. The first couple of seasons I could watch this show with Abe. It was very exciting and quite an adrenaline rush, although it would take me a little longer to fall asleep afterwards. NowdaysI CANNOT watch the show. I feel like I'm haveing a panic attack after just a couple of minutes. Abe is watching it up in our bedroom right now. The music alone seriously stresses me out!-the ticking clock--- it makes me feel like there is a bomb in my house! No, no, I cannot watch 24. In fact I did try to watch a bit with Abe of the season opener, but while I was watching I starting getting paranoid just thinking of all the bad things that were about to wrong in my life. No, not healthy for me.

Faith shows off her new ballerina pajamas! She was just delighted with herself.

You know, I can't watch that either. Or cop/crime shows (especially SVU). Or read crime books. I like my bubble. And I'd like it to stay that way.

In all fairness to Abe-- after he went to bed last night he said he wasn't going to watch 24 anymore. I asked why? I thought he would say it was because it wasn't very uplifting or something. Maybe that was part of it, but he also said, "They're using all the same 24 tricks-- I can tell when someone is going to die"
I don't care what the reason, as long as I don't have to hear that disturbing sound track.

In all fairness to Betsy-- I was also thinking to myself "why am I staying up till midnight watching this stuff, when my wife went to bed nearly 2 hrs ago (somewhat earlyish).....and I am just watching TV".
When my wife goes to bed, I should if at all possible try to do so with her......for several very good reasons (and one in particular......nuff said)

I totally agree with you, I get really bad dreams and it takes forever to calm down to go to bed.

That is funny you say that about 24...I used to watch all those "high intensity" crime shows & I actually thought they were entertaining. But now that I have kids, they totally freak me out! I think I internalize them & can't get them out of my head! I also panic & think bad things are going to happen to my family! Sometimes I feel that way after watching the news too! It's a scary world out there & I don't need to fill my head with more aweful things!!!! I love your comments! ;)
