Missionary Farewell for Kara

This past Sunday we went to a missionary farewell for a dear friend.  This wonderful family lived just down the street from us for many years and have recently moved to another city that's not too far away... and yet it's too far away:(  Kara and her sister Rachel were Bethany's very closest childhood friends.  We've played hours and hours and hours of games over the years and we absolutely love this family.
It happens to everyone and yet is so hard to wrap my mind around kids growing up-- my kids, other people's kids.  Time moves to slowly and yet so quickly at the same time.
They were so little and so cute!  They are still so cute, but Bethany and Rachel are seniors next year and Kara is off on a mission.  Sigh.  I know it's a good thing, but what I wouldn't give to listen to these three playing with their dolls and Littlest Pet Shops for an afternoon again.
Lots of kids from the Riverton 18th ward came to the farewell and it's heartwarming to see how much they love each other.
And so many of those youth have set great examples for the younger kids.
It's kind of camouflage, but can you see the baby bird on the ground?  We think if fell out of tree.
Kara, we love you and your family!  You will be a magnificent missionary in Argentina!
