Riverton Parade 2021

 

My sister and her family and James and Andrea joined us for a very quick and VERY simple hot dog cookout before the parade.  Not that we would have made it more complicated anyway, but we had spent the day running final errands in preparation for our big trip-- so simple it had to be.  

Thankfully, oftentimes, simple is best.

Schramm Fam and their family visiting from Michigan joined us at our staked-out parade site.  As Keith said, Abe knows how to parade!  We had coolers of popsicles and shade and we were sitting pretty.

I feel like some parody rap song about dads ought to be playing in the background for this picture.

Let the candy haul begin.  Truthfully, they don't even like most of the candy that is thrown out-- it's the thrill of the hunt.

Of course the best part of the hometown parade is seeing our girl as Miss Riverton! Elinor was beautiful!

Thankfully the city float was all fixed from the unfortunate breakdown at the Herriman parade the week before.  

I snagged this picture off Kaylee's Instagram because I thought it was such a cute picture of the three of them.  More parade fun to follow in the next post-- three parades plus an early morning flag raising in only 18 hours.  We are in the thick of parade season and it's pretty fun!
