Wednesday was the wrap-up of Kid's Book Club for the 2014-15 school year. Book club has been a lot of fun with great kids. It has been a pleasure to get to know them better. But a sad thing happened at book club-- do you see the cute gal in pink?
She colored and brought me this lovely picture of Hello Kitty.
And then she fell off the trampoline (George was the only one there with her) and broke her arm.
I feel terrible. We've had book club for 5+ years and and no one has ever gotten seriously hurt. That trampoline is 11 years old with a perfect record of no serious injuries. So while I don't think any unreasonable risks were taken, it is no good to have a child injured on your watch. And it's strange that within a week Clark broke his leg/ankle and now my young book club friend broke her arm.
We read the book A Grain of Rice, so we had fried rice and fortune cookies.
The Grain of Rice is a math story, so we had a math contest with buzzers. Buzzers make math fun! And this book, Bedtime Math is quite a hit with Cannon and Faith, in that, they beg for more math questions. A miracle of math.
On another day, a friend dared Cannon to rub mud on his face.
Why? Why did this seem like a good idea?
I guess we hadn't covered the topic of dares and how they really aren't a good idea.
And on another day Bethany fed Faith chocolate pudding while Faith acted like Peter eating his baby food.
Am I the only one who finds this picture funny?
In other disturbing pictures of Bethany feeding people...
I think she may have a problem.
