Fox Family Halloween Circus 2023

Not my circus, not my monkeys....

---oh wait, yeah... that is totally my circus.

Have you ever seen more appropriate family Halloween costumes than these?  This was too much fun to put together.

A huge shoutout to Ben (Bethany's beau).  He was our photographer and he nailed it!  And thanks to Andrea for letting us take them at Plumfield.
Abe the Ringmaster.

Yours truly, the stunt daredevil.  Picture me being shot out of a cannon.

Clark, the concessions seller.

Bethany, the fortune teller.

Brandon, the circus bear, Elinor the bearded lady, and Daniel, the circus lion.
For this picture, I will give out two awards.  To Brandon, I award "Best son-in-law ever" for agreeing to be a circus bear with a pink tutu collar.  And to me, I award "Worst mother-in-law ever" for asking him to do this.
That being said, it was brilliant and he makes the whole picture!!!!!  And now I can never ask him for anything ever again.  Truthfully, he was a super good sport about it, and found the bear onsie remarkably comfortable.  I said it was my gift to him.
This circus costume was a no-brainer for Faith-- the strong man, or rather strong woman.
Those are her real guns.  There's no padding.  Do not mess with Faith.
Ever the showman, Cannon, the magician.

George, the clown. He had a clear vision of what kind of clown he wanted to be and he did his own makeup.
Just the right amount of creepiness.  Although, for some people, any kind of clown is way too much creepiness.
Peter, the snake charmer.

Greta, the tightrope walker/acrobat.
Little sweetie.
The Ladies
The Gentlemen.

Happy Halloween 2023-- The Circus Edition

A Tale of Two Cities Take Two

Six years ago Abe, Clark, Bethany, Faith, and George were a part of Bluffdale's production of A Tale of Two Cities.  Abe was Gaspard and George was Little Gaspard.

This was 2017.

Last weekend, Abe reprised his role of Gaspard, with a new Little Gaspard!

Peter!!  George was 7 when he played the part and average height.  Peter is 9 and far above average height.  But they were both fantastic!
Six years ago
This past weekend
George was a good dead boy.
As was Peter.  Since he was so much taller than George was when he played Little Gaspard, he called himself Medium Gaspard:)
Such a beautiful show.
And Abe was sooo good in his role!  He brought the emotion and I was so proud of him.
Gaspard about to kill the Marquis.  He was so committed.

So handsome:)  I quite like his beard.
Words I never thought I would say.  But there it is.
The DeFarges and the Gaspards
Kelsha was the brilliant (and our favorite) director.  She is so wonderful!
Faith and Clark and I went on opening night.
Peter's best friend Kate came on Friday night.  No words for how much I love this picture!  They have been such good friends for so long.
Cannon and I had a date for the Saturday matinee.
The rest of us went on Saturday night.  I loved every minute of it!
To be a part of a show like this is quite a time commitment.  We're all glad it's done.  That being said, what a wonderful bonding thing for Abe and Peter to get to do together.

A Roaring Good Time

Last Friday evening was SO MUCH FUN!  Andrea hosted a Roaring 20's themed murder mystery party at Plumfield.  Sadly, Abe could not join us because he had a Tale of Two Cities performance the same night.  I'll post about that next.  But for this evening, it was Clark, Bethany, Ben and Me.

Clark and Bethany were two of eight actor/suspects.  Bethany's character was a showgirl and Clark was a classic mob boss.  They were spectacular!  Clark's Chicago accent was spot on!  I estimate there were roughly 75 guests.  After a delicious dinner, the guests went around to the different rooms of Plumfield to collect information from the suspects.  Our goal was to figure out who done it and turn in our guesses at the end.
Here are all the actors:

You may have seen this guy on stage at Hale Center Theater

Ben's 'stache is for an upcoming Halloween costume with Bethany.  But somehow it worked for this costume as well.
They're adorable!
I love these two so much-- my two oldest kiddos all grown up:)  It has brought me so much joy to share life with them.
You know who else brings me joy?  Andrea!  If you are familiar with Thoroughly Modern Millie you will understand this reference--- Andrea is the Muzzie to my Millie.  I love her exuberance for living life to the fullest!  "Searching... always searching!"
For the record-- Ben and I did successfully solve the crime!
