Memorial Day--9:00 am Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. It was a really good day.
Standing around the graves of our loved ones, retelling the same stories year after year. It is good for the soul. It's a tradition we love
Tessa would have just turned 20. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago. It's like another lifetime.
Clark is the only child who has a memory of that time. It was nice to talk about what we remember of each other from that time.
Stopping by my great-grandparents at the same cemetery-- Franklin James and Marie Larsen Richards. She was the daughter of the August Larsen who came over from Sweden and died in a horrible mining accident.Just fun!
We mixed it up this year and after Wasatch Lawns, we went down to the Provo City Cemetery to the graves of Henry Jolley-- the original Jolley who came to Utah.
His wife died in Nauvoo and his oldest son died on the trek to Utah.
Then, along with Matt and Christy Butler (my cousin) we also visited Herald Ray Clark and Mabel Hone Clark. Our great-grandparents.
Then our two family picked up some KFC and enjoyed lunch together at a nearby park. It was a most enjoyable day.
Afterwards we returned home for a summer kick-off party with the family in the backyard. Sometimes life's simplest gatherings are the most meaningful.
An adorable and VERY PREGNANT Bethany one week before her due-date.
Could she possibly be any cuter!! Such a pleasant pregnant person. I'm pretty sure I was no where near that agreeable at that stage.
One more, just because
Whirlpool
It just never gets old. For as dinky as this above ground pool is-- we sure get a lot of enjoyment from it.
Sometimes I've thought about how sad it must be your youngest children to "lose" their older siblings to marriage and moving out of the house. But, I hadn't taken into account the joy these kiddos get from interacting with their new in-law siblings.
Elinor has been so sweet and attentive to her big sister:)Ben (Greta on his shoulders) and Landen (Peter on his shoulders). Landen is Faith's special friend. I'm not sure if the top or bottom chickens were having more fun.
Daniel wasn't having quite as much fun:)
Grover and Stan, living their best lfe.
Stan found an interesting spot to relax.
Finishing up dinner
Time for cornhole.
I am out of cornhole shape. Faith had to compete with a different partner.
Rummikub timeS'mores time
Preparing for the cumulating activity of the evening.
The first Campfire Confessions of the season. There was some very... interesting and legally sensitive... information shared with the group.
This was Hunter's first. But he understood the assignment just fine:)
