George's Baptism Day

George was baptized on Saturday.  It was a WONDERFUL day.  The only thing missing was Clark-- on his mission in Texas, but he made sure his presence was felt nonetheless.
Abe baptized and confirmed George a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Cannon is holding his scriptures and notebook that he had his talk written in.  Cannon gave a fantastic talk about baptism and there was made mention the similarity he had to Clark in his public speaking skills.
George and his longest-time friend Lincon.  Linc's mom and I were in the Primary presidency together when we were pregnant with them.  George adores Linc.
George and his cousin lady-friends.
George and his best buddy Dallas.
My wonderful sister, Brigitta.  My sister is so comforting for me to have around.  Because our mom has been gone for so many years, we do double duty as sister and stand-in mother figure when needed.
Fox brothers--or some of them anyway.
If that doesn't look like trouble!  Gentri got a hot set of wheels and Elinor was impressed.  The day was begging for a teenager joy ride.

Grandpa Cannon gave the talk about the Holy Ghost.
I had just put food in my mouth.
It a day of miracles-- the least of which that no children were injured on our death trap of a trampoline.
Special occasions are made so much better when you are surrounded by friends and family.
Grandma and the Tesch ladies.
The boys watching George's slide show of pictures of his life.  They found it pretty funny.
Kids are the best.
The talk givers.
George and his primary teachers, Dave and Beth Miles.
Greta, do you see these two young ladies?  Be just like them.  They are awesome.
The five Utah Fox siblings- Stu, Phil, Dan, Abe, Marj.
Have I mentioned how much I love my sister-in-laws?
Foxes do love to be together.  I hope it's the same for our children when they grow up.

We really missed Clark, but he had sent Abe and note to be read to George at the Baptism.

Here is what he wrote:
George, so far I've been blessed to participate in a number of baptisms both here a in Texas and at home, including the baptism of your older brother cannon.
The chance that God gives us to make sacred covenants or promises with him, as imprefect as we are, is humbling.
Baptism truly is the first step towards getting on the road to exaltation.  And even if we live great lives, and are good people, in the end it won't be us much good without this saving ordinance.
It truly is the door to wehre we want to go in life.  Now if we walk through the door and just stop walking that won't do us any good either.
We've got to keep walking towards our destination.  How do we do this?  That's a big question, but for you right now, George, that means going to church, listening to Mom and Dad, being nice to your siblings, and as a popular Primary song says "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus."  If we don't know about Jesus, it's going to be awfully difficult to be like him.  So learn about Him.  Find out who He was and is today.  I'm so proud of you George, I love you and I'm excited to see you in 16 months!
Your Bro,
Elder Clark Fox
