In Sad News

When the final session of Senior State Swim on Saturday was over, Faith and I hopped in the car and hustled our way home so we could be home for Daniel's baby blessing on Sunday.  We weren't quite sure if the blessing was going to happen or not.  See, the thing is, Elinor and Brandon's marriage had become  pretty rocky.  That Sunday, things were tense between them.
By the following Saturday, Elinor had come home with Daniel, with the intention to return to Brandon when he had made some changes.  Things didn't go well and within a few weeks, she had decided not to return to the marriage.  They are currently in the process of divorcing.
Understandably, it's been tough for everyone involved.  Elinor is dealing with all the emotions that come with shattered hopes and dreams and being a young, single, working mom.  Siblings are dealing with making space for another adult and a baby in an already cozy house.  Everyone has had to pitch in and it's been uncomfortable. That being said, we are glad she is home and back in an environment where she is loved and respected.  She is a sweetheart and a wonderfully devoted mother to Daniel.  We're proud of her bravery in the ways she has made these tough decisions.  If you want to know more, you are welcome to talk with Elinor.  That's all I have to say on the topic.

Going back to the day of the blessing, there was a really delightful family moment.  Our whole family  went back to their apartment in Vineyard and played Raving Rabids on their old school Wii.  This was the favorite video game of the older kids of our family.

About the best thing in the whole world is having your whole family together and watching your children enjoy one another's company as they reminisce about their childhood.
