Remember That Day When...

...Faith was delighted to find her socks matched her medicine.

...Greta's violin teacher's dog had puppies

... and then Greta got to go play with them every week.
Cannon and George and I had so much fun at the Winter Youth Retreat at Heber Valley Camp.
...Poor little Greta broke her wrist when she caught herself falling off a hoverboard at Hunter's sister's house.
... but that she had such a freakishly high pain tolerance that she didn't even cry and hardly complained at all, even though she fractured both bones.
... Peter got rizzed up for Valentines
... Cannon brushed out his curls and had the best white man's afro I've ever seen.
Greta and I had a fun time at Primary Children's Hospital.
...We got invited to the Matz family's serious Super Bowl party.  We all hoped to see a three-peat for the Chiefs, but alas, it was not to be.  Even still, it was fun to be invited into the inner sanctum of Chiefdom, and of course, we had to dress the part.

Except for Cannon-- he did not dress the part, nor did he cheer for the Chiefs.  He was the only one happy to see the Eagles win.

...We finally got some snow and Abe dropped everything to take the kiddos sledding.

... except that it was actually too windy and snowy to do much good sledding.
... but it was good to build a good snowman.

...Faith was a serious work-horse, building her igloo in the backyard.  Sadly, it warmed up the following day, and no more progress was to be had.

3rd Annual Christmas Family Night of Music

It was our biggest and best one yet!  This is such an enjoyable evening, and it's so fun collaborating with the Chase family
Michaela is our fabulous emcee.  She also performed a duet with her violin teacher, Bethany Matz.
For the second year, our ward choir sings a song that is a little more exciting than would be appropriate for Sacrament meeting.
We had a little "IN" with Cannon, and we had the Riverton High School Madrigals come and perform a few songs.
We even got the choir teacher, Mr. Clegg, to perform a number.

Bethany and Jakob Schramm performed their fan favorite-- "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel"
A few kiddos from the ward prepared a sweet Christmas song to sing.  They practiced each Sunday for a month leading up to the big day.
My beautiful cousin, Rachelle, and her husband, Brandon, have seven children who all play the violin.  They came and performed and they were incredible!!! They definitely upped our game!

I must say, the highlight of the evening was Elinor's boyfriend, Hunter, performing "One More Sleep Till Christmas" from Muppets' Christmas Carol.  Brilliant!

Abe's 50th Birthday Game Night

Abe chose to have a big game night to celebrate his 50th birthday!
The evening was just what he hoped it would be-- lots of family and friends coming together to play games and enjoy good company.

I think it's a testament to Abe's friendliness and kindness that so many people came to celebrate with him.

My pet project in the month leading up to the party was organizing our game collection-- this was not a chore at all.  I enjoyed the process far more than was reasonable:)

Antigua-- Part 3

We celebrated Abe's and Emily's January birthdays

Be still my heart
Breathtaking
Another of our hiking adventures.
Heading back to harbor on the final day

Abe and Ted discovered a shared love of all things Star Trek.

The Caribbean water was wonderful.   We came across this Barracuda.

Listening to a steel band while watching the sunset on Shirley Heights.

Stunning

Our final meal in St. John's before we headed to the airport. I  could really go for a pink Ting right about now:)

So many thanks to Andrea for inviting us to share the adventure with her!
