We met and fell in love with the Gutowski family. They were remarkable and kind and so enjoyable to be with. We all shared fabulously interesting conversations and we were quite compatible. Because they are Jewish, we got all the bacon we wanted at breakfast. And because we're members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, they got all the alcohol they wanted:) We both learned from each other and I truly hope our paths meet again someday.
Our captain, Gabe is in the center on the back row and left of him is first-mate and chef, Maxi from South Africa.
Our home away from home
We kayaked every chance we got. I have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE kayaking?
Wonderful snorkeling
Snorkeling is his happiest place, but this looks like a close second.
No photoshop required. Are you kidding me?
The food. Oh, the food! We'd get a ten minute heads up that the next meal was almost ready. It felt so decadent.
Because IT WAS so decadent.
We would sail to a new harbor each day on our journey around the island . And there we would moor the boat and begin the day's adventures between mealtimes. On several of those days we hiked up to old British forts.
One of our new friends had a drone that he used to get some really cool shots and then put together an amazing video of the trip.
I tend toward seasickness the first few days, so I take medicine to curb it. It does, however, make me very drowsy, so I was to found like this, in a glorious state between sleeping and wakefulness, quite a bit at the start.
Just two grandma friends sharing pictures of our grandbabies.
Abe was in the water swimming and/or snorkeling many, many times and night.
Evening games around the table were another highlight of our time together.
I know that no one cares about this except me-- but that is a pool noodle-- not my belly hanging out:)
Abe and I will attend a Christopher Cross concert later this year---- "Sailing, take me away...". His life will be complete.
Abe and Maxi
One of two dinners we ate ashore. I think we all agreed, we would rather have stayed on the boat, but we had to get off for a little while so the crew could clean up the boat. Basically we couldn't wait to get back to the boat.
This was my favorite adventure to another fort.
I kind of have a thing for cannons:)
I love this picture of Abe at the Pillars of Hercules
