Time for a Change and Christmas Music Night

For the last 3+ years, I have been serving as the Young Women's president-- basically the female youth leader in our church congregation.  Between building relationships with the girls, weekly activities,  Sunday lessons, early morning temple trips, weeklong summer camps and more, this is a calling that has required a lot of time and attention.  It was a stretch for me, but it was also extremely satisfying.  This was really my first time working closely with the youth in a ward.  It's now been about a month since I was released, and while I am enjoying the extra time with  my family and the lighter mental load, I am missing the girls and knowing what fun things are happening in their lives.  I also miss the close working relationships with the other leaders. They have been dear friends to me.
With some of that extra time, we went to visit my Aunt Diane.  She recently moved to an assisted living home, and it's not her favorite.  My mom loved her and she loved my mom-- so it always does my heart good to spend time with her.

The planning committee for the the Christmas Night of Music-- Going strong for four years!!

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel by Bethany and Jakob Schramm.  Exquisite!
The Riverton 18th Ward Choir's Boom Wacker rendition of "Carol of the Bells"
Nikki and Bethany were six years old when we moved in to the neighborhood and now they are both mamas with little ones of their own.  How beautiful is that!
The Fox family's horrific rendition of the Barbara Streisand version of Jingle Bells
When I was young my mom had Babs's Christmas album with this song on it.  My sister and I used to laugh because we thought it was such a stupid song.  Now, it's just about my favorite Christmas song to sing:)
Michaela Chase has been serving as the secretary in our Young Women's presidency.  I ADORE her and am so grateful for all she has done to make my life easier.
Faith and Landen are so cute!! Happy little engaged couple
Can you believe he is real?
Charlie completely prefers Abe to me.  Who can blame him-- Abe was born to be a grandpa.
Ben and Bethany came to church with us so she and I could play a musical number in our ward.
Then later that day we went to their ward to play in her ward.  I don't know why we didn't snag the for this picture.
