Sisters-in-Law Trip 2022

Our annual sisters-in-law trip is over and done and it was a smashing success.  We began our trip with a visit to Disneyland.  Seven moms and only one little baby Charlie to take care of.  The odds were definitely in both his favor and ours!

Five of us (Tiffany isn't in this picture) flew to Southern California together and Amy came from Spokane and Mary from Las Vegas.  With Greta being 5 and Peter being 7, this is the first time in pretty much my entire mothering career that I haven't felt nervous leaving the kiddos.  Lots of big kid helpers and a very supportive Abe made for a calm mind as I got away for a few days.
Our first meal together was Catal at Downtown Disney.
The new Star Wars land was pretty darn impressive.  It really felt like I was there in a Star Wars movie.  I don't dislike Star Wars at all, but I wouldn't say I'm a big fan.  That being said, it was VERY cool.
This was one of the areas in the Smugglers Run attraction.
Okay, but seriously---- the Rise of the Resistance ride---- are you kidding me?  This was jaw-droppingly awesome!  There are some incredibly creative minds out there and Disney employs a lot of them!
Thunder Mountain.
Even though it wasn't too crowded and Tiffany and Amy guided us beautifully through the Disney system)-- we still spent quite a bit of time waiting in lines.  But you know what?  Waiting in line with a group of adult women is a far cry (no pun intended) from waiting in line with tired little kids.  For us, it was just more time to visit.
We got so lucky to get a table at the Blue Bayou-- the restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.  One of the best things about doing Disney with a group of moms--- and a group of moms who have born a  LOT of children between us--- was that frequent bathroom breaks were expected and respected.  No one questioned or made fun of anyone who ever needed a bathroom break.  It was lovely.
They are so cute!
Lori is so fun to hang out with.
This picture.
Lori rented this nifty scooter for the day.  We made it half the day before a bit of good-natured teasing could no longer be contained.  At the end of the day, we each took a little spin on the scooter before returning it.  This is where things got very silly.  Some were more reluctant than others to test out the scooter, but the hysterical thing was that every time each of us got on it, we got giddy and our truest natures came out.  Some of us had lovelier natures than others:)
We posed with the scooter and I don't want to brag or anything, but I think we were pretty attractive.  Tragically, these are our sexy faces.
Disney did not disappoint and hanging with these ladies was riotously fun.
The next day we drove down to Oceanside and THE BEACH.  Ahhhhh.....so rejuvenating.

Last year's whale watching adventure was a bust (no whales to be seen).  So this year we got to go back for free.  And we did see whales this time.
I am so grateful for these women and their friendship and support for pretty much all of my adult life.  They are each remarkable in their own ways and I love them.
