We had a wonderfully enjoyable Thanksgiving with six of the nine Fox siblings' families. Stuart and Tiffany hosted the large crew (roughly 55 people) at their home in Orem. In this picture from left to right is Phil, Jesse, Baden, Abe, Marjorie, and Stuart.
The college age cousins-- we have five college kids missing from this group because they are out on missions.
The teens and tweens were set up down in the basement with their own Thanksgiving buffet. Tiffany really did a fabulous job of organizing everything so nicely.
The nine and under group were in the play area just off the kitchen-- where the parents could monitor, but could also close the glass doors so it was quieter.
We went around the adult table and we all shared things we were grateful for. One of the things I mentioned was how grateful I was to be where we are now as an extended Fox family. We have all been family for many years now and we know each other and accept each other and love each other just as we are. That takes time for a family to gel as new in-laws are joining the family and everyone is trying to find their groove as individual families. We've all "grown up" and are adults just doing our best. There's no judgement, no competing. We are a strength and support to one another and I am very grateful for this Fox family just as it is now.
The best moment of the day-- although I think her parents would disagree-- was when Sophie absconded with a turkey leg well before the pray and feasting began. In truth, Abe and I and another uncle saw what was happening, and we did nothing to stop it. It was like a moment out of Norman Rockwell painting or something and it delighted me.
And clearly it delighted her too!
Jesse and Abe
Cannon and Will
Elinor and Annie
Mary and Me
We played a loud and raucous game called "The Name Game". It was fun and I'd like to play it again soon.
How cool are they?
We loved video chatting with our favorite missionary! And on that note, IN LESS THAN ONE WEEK HE WILL BE HOME!!!!! Oh, we are so excited!
