I'm not the first mother in the world to realize that Mother's Day takes on a whole new significance when you have a full-time missionary son or daughter.
We got to video message with Clark for a couple of hours and he looked great and sounded great!! He loves being a missionary. He appreciates his companions. He loves the gospel. He seemed to enjoy seeing and being with us (that is something we don't take for granted:).
This picture really sums up most of what needs to be said about the phone call. Greta TOTALLY remembered him and got so excited and happy to see his face. And I dare say, he felt the same about her.
They waved at each other. Just now as I was typing this, Greta saw his picture on the screen and excitedly waved and said "Hi!" Such disappointment.
The look he gave us when Elinor told him she had moved into his old room in the basement. Ha ha ha. We did have the decency to wait over four months.
Peter and I told the story of his love of Kate Schramm. Notice Greta's mesmerized face.
He cracked us up with a few funny filters.
Peter has been looking and laughing at these pictures all week.
After a couple hours of being "together" we had a family prayer together. Clark said it and I have never been so thankful for technology in my whole life! It was THE BEST thing ever.
It's not fancy, but I do post all his pictures and letters he writes home on a blog.
