The Lead Up

Aunt Laura treated Alexa and Bethany and Elinor to pre-wedding pedicures and shopping. Laura has always been so generous and it was a very special outing for the girls-- a bachelorette party of sorts.
Clark's last night home as a single guy.  We enjoyed dinner together and watched Guys and Dolls.  My heart felt very happy for Clark and Alexa and also a wee little bit heavy for yet another big change and moving on the the next stage of life.
Monday the 17th we got all gussied up in our wedding clothes and headed up to Bountiful for the reception.
At first I didn't love the idea of the reception the night before the wedding, but I must confess,  it was a lovely way to do things.  We weren't exhausted and no one was in a hurry to go anywhere.  In fact, the two days (reception and wedding day) were so lovely and went just as we all hoped they would.  And my slightly heavy heart was entirely uplifted and supported by so many loving friends and family who came to celebrate with us.  It was a reminder that this was, indeed, a very happy occasion.
And on that note, I will end this short post and prepare for the the next couple posts--- which will be very lengthy and full of pictures of the two big days:)
