Welcome to the Fox Family Reunion Part 1

Last week we headed to the Fox Family Reunion!  It's usually held in Spokane at Abe's mom's house in Spokane, Washington.  But with COVID, it was decided descending upon Abe's mother in our mass numbers from around the country wasn't a good idea.  So we settled on this place...
The University Inn and "Resort" in Gooding, Idaho.  Originally a small college, it became the Idaho State Tuberculosis Hospital.  I am not joking.  Rumor has it also served as an insane asylum, but this has not be confirmed.  It is believed by some to be haunted and Ghost Adventurers did an episode all about it.  Riveting... or not.

It had rougly 25 rooms, plus a large eating area and kitchen and multiple gathering areas for gathering and playing.  Was it creepy? Oh, absolutely!  Was it sort of ideal for the wild and and unbelievable loud Fox family?  Heck YES!  We had the entire place to ourselves-- it was available and affordable and I'm sure it's history had nothing to do with that:) But truthfully, it was a really, really, really fantastic reunion and I'd happily go back again another year.
We rented a 15 passenger van and loaded up the whole family-- Clark's soon-to-be-bride included.  We love road trips, so this part of the trip is much anticipated.  The sad part was that the ride was only about five hours to our first destination (Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve).  We usually have 11 or 12 hours to Spokane.
Beloved cousins reunited!
The engaged couples-- Julia and Shaemus are getting married in Spokane on August 14th and Clark and Alexa in Bountiful on August 18th.
Annie and Elinor are seniors this year-- WHAT?!
Jessica, Joe, and Cannon.
Crater of the Moon was... meh.  Maybe that's not fair to say.  It was quite hot and I think several of the coolest parts were closed.  Covid related?  I don't know.  I suppose because I've seen some really cool volcanic "stuff" in Hawaii, volcanic "stuff" in Idaho wasn't that impressive to me.  Listen to me-- when did I become such a volcanic "stuff" snob?
Not everyone gathered for the pre-reunion activity, but among those that did, there was so much excitement and happiness to be together again.

Cousin love.
My love.
Elinor loves her cousin Abby.
We're so excited to get Talitha down  in Utah when she goes to BYU Provo this fall:)
