George celebrated his 12th birthday a little early with his best buddies at Airborne this week. It was just what he wanted. We are so grateful for the good friends George has-- they have a great time together.
George spends a LOT of time with Leland (to the right of him). He is the only other boy in his dance classes. I guess they miss seeing each other since the dance season ended because even though don't live close, they've gotten together a couple times to hang out and do something other than dance.
George is the oldest of this gang.
One of the great things about having a large family with even numbers of girls and boys is you get to parent the same genders and stages multiple times. And you learn things-- like when parental involvement will be desired and helpful; and when it is best to be present (for safety reasons), but it's actually best to pretend you are not there and act like you don't see and hear anything. Eleven and twelve-year-old boy birthday gatherings definitely fall into the latter category. They are awesome!
Dallas is plugging his ears because it was a truly heinous rendition of "Happy Birthday".
